MFD extractor setup:
The first question is whether you're using a second monitor to display the MFDs. If not, you need to get some sort of virtual monitor software, then follow the directions below.
A quick note - I'm writing this with the basic assumption that you have at least one monitor (real or virtual) which is linked to the right of your primary monitor, with its top at the same position as your primary monitor. This is because DCS (which I play, and which I assume you as a Warthog owner play) assumes your primary monitor is the top left monitor in any scheme - I don't know why, but it is a limitation. Thus, setting up BMS with this assumption makes it much easier to setup DCS in the future if you desire.
Okay, once you have your second monitor setup, here is what you do:
1) Fire up the BMS launcher, open "Configuration." Click the + next to "Settings Hardware" and check the "Cockpit Displays to External Windows" box (first one in the list). Hit apply changes in the bottom right, okay the change, then exit.
2) Return to the BMS launcher, click "Cockpit Display Extraction"
3) You need to configure left and right MFDs, and the DED. For a 1920 pixel wide primary monitor, display as follows (note which display each window is for in list on left):
Now, setting up TouchControl server.
1) Open your TouchControl server folder, wherever you installed it. If you haven't installed it, get it here: http://www.touch-ir.com/download.htm
2) Run TouchControlAdmin, you don't need to adjust any settings. If windows firewall settings fail, go put them in manually. It might not be necessary, I haven't tested it, but it can't really hurt.
3) I installed bonjour for windows, I can't remember if it's really necessary either, but once again it can't really hurt.
4) Once you've done all that, run TouchControl. Hit the "tools" dropdown, then click "Import Configuration" and find the "TouchIR BMS.zip" file you downloaded. When it prompts you about replacing your current configuration, hit yes.
Okay, now to actually set up the touchgrabber (the thing which sends the MFD feeds to your iPad)
1) Once again, hit the "tools" dropdown. This time click screengrabber. Note how a box shows up, and you now have a "TouchControl Grabber" in your taskbar.
2) Double click the box's frame and you will see the below information box. Input the details as below (once again, assuming a 1920 wide screen)
3) Finally, go into the "tools" dropdown again and hit settings. Check the box that says "Start Screen Grab with Server." I also check "Minimize to System Tray" because I minimize the server whenever I'm playing, so only the TC Grabber is actually visible.
So, in order to test this whole thing, fire up touchcontrol on your ipad and make sure it connects properly to the server. Then, fire up Falcon and make sure it you get 3 boxes (1 for each MFD and 1 for the DED = 3) where you should. At this point, you'll notice that BMS is running windowed - that's a requirement of the display extractor sadly. If you look at your ipad, all three windows are probably showing either all white or all black. If you touch either of the MFDs or the DED, you can drag it to display other parts of the TC grabber area - this is how you adjust the windows to properly show the MFD/DED they should. Drag the left MFD to be on the second window, and the DED all the way down to the bottom, smaller window (you can drag both up/down and left/right to get them fitting best). Now, go into a mission (can be TE, campaign, dogfight, whatever as long as your MFDs and DED are on) and see if it all works.
If you continue to get an all white/black display on the ipad after joining a game, you need to take one extra step before actually entering the pit each time. After firing up BMS (i.e. in the BMS menu) but BEFORE going into the pit, you need to select TC Grabber - you can simply click on the TC Grabber box, or you can hit it on the taskbar, but you need to select it and that issue won't happen. You can also do the same while actually in the pit, but I've found that gives me my external mouse pointer in addition to the disappearing BMS one, which is super annoying.
Now, one problem with this setup is that the F4 BMS display extractor creates borders for each display. This means you're getting less than the designated usable space, because there's some border. On my desktop I have the actual numbers I used, but it is currently packed up to be shipped across the country, so I don't have access to it. Basically, experiment with those numbers (Left, Top, and the sizes) until you are comfortable with the product. You can also easily experiment with the TC grabber to get a more desirable output.
